How TDEE is calculated

TDEE is your BMR (calories at rest) multiplied by an activity factor. This gives you total calories burned in a day.

Step 1 - Calculate BMR:
Men: BMR = (10 × weight) + (6.25 × height) − (5 × age) + 5
Women: BMR = (10 × weight) + (6.25 × height) − (5 × age) − 161

Step 2 - Multiply by activity:
TDEE = BMR × activity factor

Activity factors: Sedentary (1.2), Light (1.375), Moderate (1.55), Very active (1.725), Super active (1.9).
